The Vanderhorst Family
Debra is the mother of two children. Daquan is twelve and is in the seventh grade and earns A’s and B’s. He is very athletic and excels in basketball and football where he has won several awards. Her daughter, Tatyana, is seven and is a straight A student in second grade. She loves to read and play basketball. Debra also has legal custody of her nephew, Trey. Trey is 15 and a sophomore in high school. He loves football and carries a B average.
Currently Debra, her children and her nephew are living with Debra’s mother and stepfather. Debra says she loves being with them, but it is very over-crowded. She is looking forward to owning a Habitat house – a place to finally call home for her family.
